LIVE FISHING REPORT : Reliable Guide and Charters and Ron’s Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop Fishing Report Week ending June 8 /2025

KITIMAT RIVER PHOTO OF THE WEEK:
June 8 Jacob Newman, former guide for Reliable Guide and Charters holding a beautiful Kitimat River Chinook he caught on a fly.
Congratulations Jacob!   Thank You for sharing your photo with our Fishing Report.

SUMMARY

The Kitimat River levels have been rising and and dropping due to the snow melt.  This is typical during this time of year when we receive hot weather.  This will continue into July until all the snow at the lower elevations has completely melted.
The high river levels and the big tides will usually produce more fish.
Chinook are migrating into the Kitimat on the rising tides.  Fresh Chinook straight from the salt water are more aggressive and many Fly Anglers have reported success taking advantage of these fresh, aggressive fish.
Bar fishing with Flame Chartreuse Spin n glos in murky water and Blue Pirate in the cleaner water.  The Koho 65 Blue Scale with red Stripe is also producing.
Stay tuned to this Fishing Report.

SUMMARY

Feeder and Spawning Chinook stocks are being caught through out the Douglas Channel much to the delight of many Chinook anglers.
Halibut and bottomfish are also been caught through out the Douglas Channel.  There have been an increased number of Bottomfish and Halibut caught at this end of the Douglas Channel earlier than normal.  Crab and Prawns have also been very good.
The Douglas Channel is starting to show off her stock abundance and as the weather gets better, fishing the Douglas Channel is Spectacular!
