Anglers are reminded that the Kitimat River closed for retention of Chinook midnight July 31st.
Summary
The Kitimat River is in desperate need of a little rain to draw some fresh Pinks and Chum into the river.
In addition to the “Fire Ban”, the hot weather has create a very low Kitimat River. The 2 major influences to motivate salmon to migrate into the Kitimat River would be a bump in water level or some bigger tides. Our weather has not created the needed bump in river height so we will have to wait until the latter part of this week for the bigger tides. Stay tuned!
