June 1 Justin and Lars, Pro Guides for Kalum River Lodge were doing some personal fishing on the Kitimat River when Justin hooked this beautiful 72cm Kitimat River River Chinook on a fly. Congratulations Justin and Thank You for sharing your picture with our Fishing Report.
Summary
The Kitimat River was producing a few Chinook prior to the river level rising on the weekend. The high water should have brought some Chinook into the river and the Kitimat River level drops, Chinook fishing should be starting to get good.
With each rising tide more Chinook should be migrating into the Kitimat.

SUMMARY
The Douglas Channel continues to produce good numbers of Halibut and Chinook in the outer waters of the channel. More and more Chinook are being caught closer to the Kitimat end of the Channel.
Jesse Falls produced Chinook during the weekend and a few boaters reported catching Chinook along the west side of the Kitimat Harbour.
Stay tuned for what looks to be a very good Chinook season!
