Summary
The Kitimat River levels have been rising and dropping due either hot weather and/or rain. During the high water, Chinook were still being caught albiet more were caught when the river was lower and cleaner.
Killer whales in the Kitimat harbour and some big tides pushed Chinook into the Kitimat River in spurs.
Anglers who were in the right place at the right time caught Chinook in the Lower Kitimat River.
Anglers are reminded that the Daily Quota for Chinook on the Kitimat River is One Chinook per day under 80cms. Chinook that are kept must to recorded on your Fishing License with Salmon Stamp.

SUMMARY
Halibut in the Douglas Channel has been fairly steady but the Chinook fishing in the inner waters of the Douglas has been erractic. The Chinook stocks in the Douglas Channel has attracted the attention of 2 or maybe 3 pods of Killer Whales. Killer Whales are a marvel to observe but they scatter the Chinook and Chinook fishing is terrible when they are around.
They have be spotted a couple of times in the Kitimat Harbour to the delight of observers and River fishers.
Smart money says, “If you find catch as many as you can before the Killer Whales find them too.”
