SUMMARY
The Kitimat River is producing decent numbers of Chinook with every high tide.  There was a bump of Chinook move through the lower Kitimat as demonstrated by Aiden  McCormick and Keaton Demelo’s group catch on Sunday JUne 16th.
There is a big tide growing right now and will peak on June 24th.  Smart money says to get out and fish for Chinook during these big tides.
Anglers are reminded that the Kitimat River is open for retention of one Chinook/day under 80 cms.
Retained Chinook must be immediatley recorded on your Angler License.
A recent DFO Public Notice closed the Skeena River for retention but not the Kitimat River.
Tight Lines!

Curtis Nevraumont of Fishwestcoast Advnetures provided this photo and comments, “The crew and I headed out to the Sue Channel today and connected with several chinook up to 18 lbs. The largest Chinnok of the day fiercely hit the no bannans Wee Gee spoon trolled behind a green hotspot flasher on the downrigger.  Halibut fishing remained excellent when sitting on the anchor, fast action was hd bottom bouncing herring/salmon on the spreader bar at high slack. Fishwestcoast adventures.”
Congratulations Everyone!  Great Jon Skipper!

Summary
Chinook are being caught from the outer waters of the Douglas Channel to the north end in the Kitimat Harbour.  Albeit there are still better catch rates out further but with every tide more Chinook are bring caught closer in.  There have been a few Pinks and Coho reported being caught at Jesse Falls.  There are also feeder Chinook and Chinook spawners being caught in close.
Halibut and Bottomfishing has been very good in the outer waters of the Douglas Channel but there have been a few caught at Fish Trapp and Stanaford Bank on the slack tides.
Good Luck and Stay Safe.
