SUMMARY

The Kitimat River Steelehad season is it’s latter part of the season.  Although there are still some bright steelhead, the majority of Steehead are ready to spawn or have finished and are migrating down river and back to the ocean hopefully to repeat spawn.
Trout fishing has also been very good for the anglers who were lucky to find the holes that the Trout are concentrated.
There have been a few Chinook reported which has created some excitement but the main spawning run isn’t until June.

Consistent halibut bite soon after the low slack tide with fresh octopus/herring being the preferred bait. Salmon fishing remains consistent with feeder chinooks averaging 6-10 lbs consistently hitting the Gibbs No Bananas spoon hotspot fisher combo over bait.
King crabbing has picked up recently while spit prawns and Dungeness crab remains excellent.
