KITIMAT RIVER PHOTO OF THE WEEK     "Happy Father's Day"           June 15 I had the pleasure of fishing with my Favorite grand daughter, Piper (I only have one : ) , and my Favorite Daughters, Julie and Michelle on Father's Day. I believe that the most special experience I can share with my family is my Love of Fishing! Fishing together on Father's Day makes it more Special. What makes this Chinook even more special is that it was caught on Piper's rod and Piper fought and landed the fish.  Julie was on the oars, Michelle coached and helped Piper with the rod and I netted the Chinook. SUMMARY The Kitimat River levels have been rising and and dropping due to the snow melt.  This is typical during this time of year when we receive hot weather.  This will continue into July until all the snow at the lower elevations has completely melted. The high river levels and the big tides will usually produce more fish. SUMMARY There are still a few Steelhead being caught through out the Kitimat River, although some are "Kelt' (spawned Steelhead returning to the ocean).
