SUMMARY
The Kitimat River Chinook fishing has had some exceptional days for some anglers as demonstrated by the pictures. It is has also had some exceptional off days. This can be explained by the receding tides and dropping river.
The growing tides this week should bring a bump of Chinook and the one of the peak tides will bring abnormal number of Pinks and some early Chum. There have also been a few Coho been caught already.
This is typical this time of the season.
Smart money says, to 2 tone your jigs! Stop by Ron’s Tackle Shop. Ron and his knowledgable staff will be happy to explain why.
Anglers are reminded that Chinook under the 80cm max size limit that are retained:
Must be recorded on your licence
Must have a Non Tidal Salmon Stamp
Must leave the heads on to transport.
Good Luck and Lucky High Five! : )

SUMMARY
The Douglas Channel is showing off her Stock abundance of the majority of the species she has to offer this week. Halibut, Ling Cod , Pinks, Chum , Chinook and especially Coho have been have caught. With the addition of the Crab, Prawns and Octopus. the Seafood Platter is complete.
An interesting trend the last couple of years was that some boats have caught more Coho in Chinook season and more Chinook in Coho season.
There are early signs of this already.
We are so fortunate to enjoy the enormous bounty the Douglas Channel has to offer. When the weather is good, it is truly a spectacular experience.
