Reliable Guide and Charters and Ron’s Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop Fishing Report Week ending Sept21/2025

KITIMAT RIVER PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Sept 15 Des and I had the pleasure of drifting with Larry and Shirley Timm and Jody and Shennelle Gardiner.  This was the Mother, daughter, father in law and son in law Fishing Team.
As I mentioned in my previous fishing report, one of the best qualities in a good guide is to do “Homework drifts” (Preclient drifts) to stay tuned with the run.  Des did the Homework and her efforts paid off for Shennelle.
Shennelle (the daughter) was the Hot Rod!  The proof is in the picture.  Well done Shennelle!  Great Job Des!
Thank You for using our services.  Des and I had a wonderful time fishing with you all.

Brian hooked 4 Coho landed 2 beautiful Coho.  Brian was extremely happy with his catch and is literally “Glowing” in the picture with his first Coho!  This was a last minute booking.  Sometimes things just work out for the Best!
Thank You to Brian for using our Guide Services!  It was a lot of Fun fishing with you.

Sept 15 I had the pleasure of drifting with Martin and Rick on a 1/2 Driftboat Trip Special.  400.00 for 2 clients.
We hooked 4 Coho landed these 2 beauties.  It was fun fishing with Rick and Martin.

SUMMARY

Early this week the Kitimat River provided  good catch rates of Coho albeit not in the numbers we typically catch this time of year.  Most Coho anglers commented that the river was too low and were hoping for a little rain.  Friday night their wish was granted and it rained all of Saturday and the Kitimat River rose over 8.2′.  The rain stopped  early Sunday morning by Sunday evening, the Kitimat River has dropped almost 6′.
As the river drops, the Coho will stack up in specific spots.  The rising river shuffled the deck and now it will be hide and seek to find them.
Smart money says to first look in the release sites for the hatchery.
Stay tuned!
Good Luck!
