KITIMAT RIVER PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Justin Lowes, Pro guide for Reliable guide and Charters caught this very nice Chinook on a personal trip.  Great fish!  Being a Pro Guide requires spending time on the river between clients to constantley find new holes to catch Chinook.  This preparation produces catch results for our clients. Well done Justin!

SUMMARY
The Kitimat River has All five species of Salmon swimming in her waters.
The Rock Star of Salmon these past few weeks are the Pinks.  Chinook are still the main target for many anglers and are still plentiful in specific holes in the lower river and bunched up in the Release sites in the upper Kitimat.
There have been a few Coho already caught on the Kitimat River.  This is typical for this time of year but the Coho main run in at the end of August and into September.
Chum are also being caught in good numbers.  Bottom bouncing a spin n glo with a hoochie is the best method of catching Chum.
A few Sockeye have also been reported caught on the Kitimat River.  There is no retention of Sockeye on the Kitimat River.
It is an excellent time to be fishing the Kitimat River and Mother Nature has provided some excellent weather.
Good
 Luck!

SUMMARY
The Douglas Channel continues to show off her stock abundance this week  with the scenic beauty of calm seas, and blue skies and Sunshine in the background.  We are truly fortunate to be able enjoy fishing in one the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Halibut is starting to heat up in the inner waters of the Douglas Channel.  This is typical this time of year as the bottomfish migrate into the inner waters to feed on the spawned pinks when they float out the creek and river mouths after spawning.  John, Curtis and Ryley are the Rock Stars catching Halibut this week.  All 3 of these Skippers have open dates in August.  Anyone wishing to book a Saltwater Trip of a LIfetime, please call Ron 250 632 1275 or email wakita@telus.net.

Pinks numbers are “off the charts” this season.  And BIG!  Coho has also been very good if you can get your lines down past the PInks.
The quirky trent of the last couple years, of catching more Coho in Chinook season and now more Chinook in Coho season continues for a few boaters.

Big Fish and Big Smiles in beautiful suroundings. Wow!   Add the natural Hotsprings with a few cold beverages is a recipe for some outstanding memories!
