Aug 23 I had the pleasure of fishing with my very good friend Ron Jones of Hawaii on a morning fish in the Kitimat Harbour. We landed a couple of Coho in a couple of hours after we baited our Crab traps.
We wanted to see if there were any Coho starting to group up in the Harbour. There didn't seem to be lot and I am happy to report that there is 2 less.:)

Summary
This year's Coho run has been very good this year and looks like it will continue well into September.
Halibut fishing has been the best it has been in quite a few years.
It saddens me to advise Saltwater anglers that DFO has just announced that Halibut will be closed to Recreational Anglers midnight Sept. 9th.
This hardly seems fair since DFO reduced the recreational sector's catch of the 2nd Halibut in possession to under 83 cms. What is even more appalling is that the Commercial sector will be allowed to fish until Dec 31st.
Since this closure is purely political and not for conservation, my advise to recreational anglers is to get out and catch our fair share before it closes.
Thank You to everyone for submitting photos and info to this Fishing report.
