Brendan Apps, Winner of the Largest Coho caught by a Junior is photoed here sharing the moment with his father, Brian and his sister, Alexis.  Brendan won a Shimano Rod and Reel donated by Ron’s Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop.  Congratulations Brendan!


Aug 25 Marc Girard, Pro Guide for Reliable Guide and Charters guided Dean and Hunter on our 1/2 Day Driftboat Trip.  They lamded a whole bunch of Pinks and had a wonderful time doing it.  Congratulations everyone.Well done Marc!

Aug 26  Pablido photoed here with his lovely wife, Luzminda.and his beautiful Coho.  Pablido looks rather proud of his catch.  Well done!  Congratulations!

Aug 28 Mike Herzberg provided this photo and comment,”Hi Ron, thought you might like this photo. I took Parinaz and her dad, Mo on a drift yesterday. She caught this 11-lb. coho, her first ever, on the rod/reel you recommended. Fish hit a pink jig”.  It is always refreshing to witness young anglers catch their first Coho.  The smile on Parinaz’s face, Says it All!. .Wow!  Congratulations Parinaz!  Well done everyone!

Aug 30 Jerry, one of our clients who we shuttle for  sent me this photo and comment,“Landed 3 Coho and lost a few others”  Congratulations Jerry.  Well done!  Great results on a short drift.

Sept 1 Glenn Amendt and his son, Gavin were fishing with their fishing partner,  Mark Johns on the gravel bar below the Kitimat Hatchery.  They landed these 4 Coho during the early morning bite…Glenn caught the Largest Coho 12lbs 8 oz. as of 1:24 on Sunday.

Sept 2 Mano,Daniel, Stephen, Martin from Germany landed these Coho fishing the gravel bar below the Kitimat Hatchery using 1/2 Pink Thunder Jigs.  Congratulations everyone!

Sept 2  Margie sent me this photo of her entry for Photo of the week.  Margie Dean caught this Coho fishing Radley Park with a Red Thunder jig.  Well done Margie!  Thunder Jigs Rock!

Sept 2 I managed to fish a couple of hours with my son, Corey during the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce Fishing Derby.  It is our Family tradition to fish together during the derby even if it is a few hours.  I hope everyone who participated had a lot of fun!

Sept 1 Update
With the KItimat River so low, the best time to fish has been early in the morning.  Seventeen Coho were caught this morning during the morning bite.  Most were caught float fishing roe while others were caught on jigs and spoons.  Good Luck everyone.
Sept 2 Update
It seems the morning bite was best at the gravel bar below the Hatchery as there was 18 Coho caught but the bite at the lower, lower Dike was better on the evening bite with 14 caught last night.



Aug 26:  Todd Haybes from Nautical West Sportfishing provided this photo and comment, “Erin Sproule and Lawrence hooked up today and slotted a big Hali on the experimental Halibut quota system with us today! We hooked up with 2 nice Hali and a bunch of Coho and Rockfish”.  Well done!  Congratulations everyone!  Well done Skipper!
