June 8
Marc Girard, Pro Guide for Reliable Guide and Charters shared these photos and comments, “I had the pleasure of fishing with Malissa and Daniel from Calgary and ( from jack pine flats lol).  Very nice people and lots of fun on the water.( shared their lunch with me and you know it doesn’t get any better than that) Fishing was slow. But man when it happens, Wow!  What a blast!  Melissa had never fished before but when the fish grabbed her metallic pink hot shot, Melissa was not shy.  She grabbed that rod and the fight was on But after about 30 minutes handed rod off to her brother who continued to fight the fish (great team effort) Melissa landed her first fish. A Chinook, 84 centimetres long.  The best part of this experience was watching Melissa and Daniel’s parents, Anita and Richard Bruce from Newfoundland (who were fishing with our other guide, Dan) watch their children have such a wonderful time on the water.  It was a true pleasure and very satisfying day.”
Congratulations to everyone. Fun was had by all!
Great Job Marc.  Thank You for using our Guiding services

Summary
The outer waters of the Douglas Channel are producing good numbers of Chinook, Halibut, Lingcod and Rockfish.
Killer Whales have been spotted throughout the Douglas Channel.  When the Killer whales are around so are the Chinook. Unfortunately when they are in the Kitimat Harbour, the bite is off for a couple of days until the Chinook regroup.  The Kitimat River anglers are happy though.
Stay tuned!
