Summary
The Kitimat River is experiencing an excellent return of Chinook this season especially this early in the season. The best news is that are an exceptionally good numbers of “Jacks”. (Males under 80 cms). Accordingly there are many Happy Anglers as only Chinook under 80cms can be retained.
The excitement of catching big, bright Chinook is an amazing experience that all anglers should experience. Please see full report below to view a couple of Ladies’s first Chinook they heave ever caught.
This season has all the signs of a good return. It is the best I have seen it this early for many years this early. When a Chinook run starts earlier it is possible it is an early run that starts early and ends earlier. Or when there is an exceptionally large return of Chinook, the run starts early and ends later, with lots of Chinook in between.
It is too early to tell at this point but stay tuned!
