LIVE FISHING REPORT: Reliable Guide and Charters and Ron’s Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop Fishing Report Week ending July 9th /2023

Photo of the week: Jared Scofield proudly holding a 98cm Chinook caught and released by Karen Barber.  Ivy Parker also in the photo joined us on our 1/2 Day Driftboat Trip.  The Fish Gods blessed us with a beautiful Chinook which was Karen’s first Freshwater Salm\\on.
Congratulations Karen!  It takes a team to land the fish sometimes.  Karen fought the fish, Ivy cleared the rods and Jared netted it.
Well done everyone!

SUMMARY

Firstly.  We apologise for not sending out our Newsletters for the past couple of weeks as we have been incredibly busy.
We post to our Fishing Report on our website every day  Please visit our website. Reliable Guide and Charters  Or you can stop always stop into Ron’s Fishing Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop.

High tides always play a significant role when fishing on the Kitimat River.
When fishing Chinook on the Kitimat River, the Kitimat River Tide Chart should be your best friend.  There is a link to the Kitimat River Tide Chart on our website.  .Reliable Guide and Charters
Chinook will migrate and be caught through out the day but more fish especially Chinook migrate on the High tides.  We are receiving some of the highest tides on the year this week.  The prolem is that the Kitimat River is exceptionally low and clean.
Chinook are being caught but the catch rate is spotty in the lower Kitimat.  .Pinks are just starting to run abeit not the big surge we expected during the 19.7′ high tides on July 4th and 5th.
Mother Nature does not always follow her traditional trends or the fish did not read the manual.  🙂
A few bright Chum have been caught the Chum appear to be late.
The common consecus amounst long time Kitimat Chinook anglers is that the Chinook run, at this point, is either late or not going to happen.  StaY Tuned!
