LIVE FISHING REPORT: Reliable Guide and Charters and Ron’s Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop Fishing Report Week ending July 8

PHOTO OR THE WEEK: Kitimat River.  Brandon, Pro Guide from Skeena Salmon Lodge took this photo of a 36″ Kitimat River Chinook he caught with the adipose fin clipped.

The Kitimat Hatchery is asking for all Recreation Angler’s assistance to provide photos of any clipped Chinook that are caught in the Kitimat River.  Chinook produced by the Kitimat River Hatchery will have the adipose fin missing.  In order for the Kitimat Hatchery to receive credit for their production, they must be able to provide proof. Typically the Kitimat Hatchery receives credit via the Hatchery Head Recovery Program.  With zero retention of the larger Chinook, the only way the Kitimat Hatchery will receive credit is by producing pictures of clipped Chinook.
Please take a photo of any clipped fish and text them to me at 250 632 1275 or email them to wakita@telus.net.  Please include your name, the approx. length of the fish and location caught.
I will forward these photos to the Kitimat Hatchery and forward a summary to the SFI and the SFAB..

A Huge Thank You to Brandon from Skeena Salmon Lodge for providing this vital photo to support our Kitimat River Hatchery.

July 5 Lane Vilness provided this photo of a Chinook ha caught and released.  Well done Lane.  Thank You for sharing your photo with our Fishing Report.

July 6 Elmer and Joyce Chow landed this 78 1/2 cm, 20 pound Chinook fishing with Pro Guide, Marc Girard.  Congratulations to the Chows.  Well done Marc.  The Chows lost another Chinook to a seal just before landing this one.  Chinook are sometimes tough to hook and then to loose it to a seal is disheartening.  This Chinook was caught on a Blue scale Koho 55
