KITIMAT RIVER PHOTO OF THE WEEK:
My cousin Mike Wakita is holding a Kitimat Hatchery Steelhead he landed on the Kitimat River April 27th. Mike and I were doing a morning drift.on a mission to complete the “Triple Crown”. The “Triple Crown” is a personal challenge I have developed over the years. The challenge is to catch a Steelhead using 3 different fishing methods on the same drift. We had to catch a Steelhead on a Hot Shot , one on a Fly and one on tackle. We landed one using tackle and one on a Hot Shot but we lost the third leg of the Triple Crown on the fly. So close but hooking 5 Steelhead, landing 2 is a pretty good morning. Thanks Mike for a fun morning. It was a lot of fun fishing with you.Mike was in Kitimat attending my brother, Brian’s Celebration of Life ceremony. Brian’s passing makes us all realise how precious life is, so we decided to cease the moment and go on a special fishing trip. We coined this Steelhead “The Uncle Brian fish”.
Rest in peace Brian and may God’s Love bring peace and comfort to your family and our Mom.
Life is precious and we should take time to hug our kids a few moments longer and give our significant other an extra kiss every day. .
Please take time to live life. Life is short. Fish Lots!
God and Fishing are my salvation!
Anglers are reminded to return the heads of any harvested Kitimat Hatchery Steelhead to the Kitimat River Hatchery or Ron’s Mobile Fishing Tackle and Bait Shop.

Not much to report this week as I have been out of the loop due to a family passing. There were many comments about the Dungeness Crab were moltting and had soft shells. This is typical since there is very little feed for the crab.
There are some regulations changes for Halibut and Salmon for the 2019 season. I will post to this Fishing Reports as soon as I receive the official Public Notices.
