Kitimat River

Steelhead fishing on the KItimat River was excellent. “It was a really good Steelhead return this year”, says Justin Lowes, assiociate guide for Reliable Guide and Charters. Many anglers shared the same thoughts of the season.  We are fortunate to have the Kitimat River Hatchery enhancing Steelhead returns on the Kitimat River.  There have been a few reports of Steelhead being caught but most anglers are eagerly waiting for Chinook.  A few Chinook caught so far which has gotten the hardcore Chinook anglers pretty excited.

Douglas Channel

May long weekend is usually the start of the fishing season in the Douglas Channel for many Saltwater anglers and boaters. Dungeness and especially King Crab has been excellent so far this season.

Accordingly to one of the gals at MK Bay, “Halibut and Bottomfish has been very good”.  The weather is excellent and the fishing is Good.  It doesn’t get much better.
